I'm now starting to think that at least America allows its citizens a fighting chance.
Did you know that in the UK you aint allowed ANY self defence items? Save for a rape whistle, a rather quiet whistle that could easily be mistaken for a cheap car alarm, and who pays attention to car alarms that are not their own? You just ignore it right? In fact you actually get annoyed if it carries on too long.
In addition to guns, America also allows Mace, stun guns and kevlar.
All these are illegal in the UK and im guessing a big reason for that is so the police can take us down with ease if needed too.
I used to think America didnt care about its citizens but now Im starting to think they care more than we do!
It is not uncommon for people to just randomly attack people in the street, happens all over the world daily. What are we supposed to do in this situation? Will the attackers be polite enough to allow us to call the police for assistance before they begin the attack? Do the police have magical teleportation powers and can get to the scene in an instant? No, yet they insist on making us rely on them for help.
And to make matters worse, teenagers who randomly stab people for fun on drunken nights out only get a few years in jail, one dude in my hometown who walked up to another teen and beat him up and stabbed him for literally no reason ( killed him ) only got 7 years in jail and will likeley get out EARLIER if he behaves himself. ( He was not deemed mentally ill either ) -

Hopefully he'll mess up in prison and keep getting more years tacked on to his sentence, or better yet he gets killed

No, in all likely hood he will make some friends there, make use of the gym and get real muscular then get a hot GF when he gets out because bad boys with abs are all the rage these days, he will also no doubt get a ' not to be messed with ' rep, its all about second chances these days too so he probably wont struggle to find a job all that much…
meanwhile, the teen he killed is still dead and family still broken -

I'm actually not sure about the Kevlar now that I think about it but I know mace and tasers are.
But recently in the UK, an off duty cop abducted, probably raped and then murdered a woman, so perhaps self defence items will be allowed, seeing as we now have rapist murdering cops on the force!
