This is one of those movies that show up on the movie channels quite a bit.
I may pop in and check it out for a few scenes here and there.
I don't think I could sit and watch the whole thing start to finish again.
      I dunno.
It seems too long while in bits and pieces it feels more interesting.

Long, long, long. Feels like a sequel to Goodfellas although there is no connection.

I think the ending is interesting where he talks about how the mob gets chased out of Vegas then it gets rebuilt as a Disney like attraction.
It may not have the old school ways and charm he liked but it doesn't have the murder and crimes as it used to from the mobs.
At least, I would think not.
Overall I think it's an interesting bio on an insider mob associate.

Yeah, that was interesting. The mob used to rule Vegas and the rest of the country. So much corruption. Today, it's all fake, and the corruption still remains in other ways.

Im sad that you hadnt fallen in love with this movie the way me others have. If I were to have any gripes would be the editing like you mentioned. I agree Ace is the weakess character in the film. Nicky was the most important although his importance was the cause of his downfall.
Essentially, Casino is a SOAP OPERA ABOUT AN ORGANIZED CRIME RING
It's just a fictional story about how the mafia got involved in Vegas. No more of less. Its an ensemble cast. We see James Woods throughout until about the final 30 of the film. His character is my favorite and I think its Woods 2nd best performance of his career.
Sharon is amazing. She is able to pull off all the intricacies of Ginger. Ginger made you in awe of her. Ginger made you feel scared for her. Ginger made you hate her. Ginger's behavior disgusted you…and then at the end you are glad Ginger died. And Sharon did phenominal.
Compared to other crime dramas, Casino is in the top 5.
