Did anyone else have flashbacks of Ft. Jackson while watching this movie? I I went to Basiic Training there in '90 (showing my age) and spent most of the movie going: "I've been there", "I know where that is".

Sure have, In fact I watched it tonight and was pointing out the actual distance between the Victory Tower and the bayonette training area, There is no way it took 10 sec to go a 15 mile distance. And also if you look closely in the backround when cpt murdoch and Danny Devito are walking (actually in the basement of the main reception building) When you see soliders standing in line recieving their basic military clothing, if you catch it quick enough the robust Italian woman with the big blonde hair can be seen handing out bdu's and such. She was there in 1997 when I was stationd at Ft Jackson for basic and had my BDU's handed to me by her. Also, if you can catch it quick enough when they are driving around the base at the beginnning of the movie for the tour, you can just see Ft. Jackson painted on the water towers, but you have to be quick to catch it. I was wondering if anyone from Ft Jackson or anyone who went there for basic training can pick these things out in the movie like I can.

I'd better watch this movie again! I did basic training at Ft. Jackson ('81) and I don't remember recognizing the post as Ft. Jackson! I was in a co-ed training company on Tank Hill. That would be the only place I would be sure to recognize.
