heroin is a different drug than pot. it's not a "this stuff will really mess you up" it's more like "this stuff is what you're used to, or you're a dead man." every junky, famous or otherwise, who died (Sublime ring a bell?) from heroin, died because they got "madman" when they were used to "panda" per say. Tarantino I realize is a pot-smoker, not a heroin addict, and I am NOT one of those people who think movies shouldn't glamorize drugs. (or that my nephew died from a madman that he expected panda) (btw anything a junky is used to could be considered a normal amount, and if he gets something more pure, it's deadly, not, like pot, better for the buyer)
but in that scene, though leading to a great "punchline" (is that the girl with the s–t all over her face?" Lance was talking-up the heroin like it was pot being sold in Dude Where's My Car or a Friday movie…
and for anyone who says "Vincent wasn't an addict so he wasn't used to any particular amount, he was a casual user" well…
there is NO SUCH THING as a one-time-in-a-blue-moon heroin user…
and if someone not used to ANY heroin gets madman, they'd be either dead, or, without an equal amount of coke, they'd be sound asleep at Jack Rabbit Slims, not chatting and dancing…
