after IWTV they became human for couple of decades (Louie cures himself and tricks Lestat into becoming human somehow and gets him imprisoned) so they been aging for 20y then Lestat escapes and manages to become vampire/immortal again and turns louie again lol

In a few years they will have the technology to do a full length film with both those actors properly. The CGI was already used for a younger Tony Stark in the latest Captain America.

I think one of the possible reasons why Cruise turned down to reprise his role as Lestat in
Queen of the Damned
was because he felt that, based on his experiences in filming
Mission: Impossible II
, playing Lestat again as he had just played Ethan Hunt again would not have offered him any challenges as an actor.
