In some scene Joshua received old newspapers talking about deaths and disappearences corcening Eli, but the strangest part is that one of newspapers showed of photo Eli in his actual age, and the newspaper was dating 1964! I'm confused about that part of the movie. Could some one explain me this please?

I think that it means that Eli is like Isic. He was put on the Earth like a child and stays that way. So when he saw that Eli was still his age and was there, it freaks him out because he must be like some devil or whatever. Thats my asumption anyways.

It explains a little. I just don't understand why HWWBTR would use a looking-kid demon to preach his religion. As we can know, all the kid preachers of COTC series are regular humans, but in somehow they are involved in HWWBTR's powers. Why Eli would be an exception?

If you take the quote I put at the end of all of my posts it may help explain a little more the quote I use is "A CHILD SHALL LEAD THEM" HWWBTR hates adults. Isaac was the first person to know not of him but to preach his word. Kind of like the first prophet. Isaac is the original "Giver of his word." All of the leaders in the COTC series EXCEPT Isaac are possessed by HWWBTR meaning that HWWBTR is inside of them and is acting out his plans using them. Like pawns. Eli is no exception. He is inhabited by HWWBTR just like MICAH, JOCIAH, EEZEKIEL, GABERIEL and ABLE. True, the leaders are regular humans in the beginning but later become possessed but some accident. Like stumbling into a whole, falling in the cornfields, or having their soul sold over to the darkside. The only one who was never possessed was Isaac. He's the original preacher. HWWBTR wants to rid the world of adults meaning anyone over the age of 18. In COTC 5 we learn more about the "religion" from the book that Allison's brother, Jacob gives to her It's the book that HWWBTR told Isaac to write and it's the one that Gaberiel mentions to Isaac in COTC 6. In the "religion" they believe that children are born pure, free from sin and that when a person turns 19 they become an adult and enter the world of impurity and sin. So that's why they sacrifice themselves on their 19th birthdays, their day of passage. We learn that in COTC 4 Jociah started to grow up so the traveling preachers feed him mercury (quicksilver) and sell his soul so that he won't grow up and can continue preahing. But that doesn't work. It never tells us if Eli is like this but it is my assumption that this is the case with Eli. HWWBTR as I have said hated the adults. He want's the children to start a superior race that sacrifices adults to make the corn grow and to feed him. He wants world run by children the "TRUE PURE ONES" So the only way to get children to listen is to to make the person preaching to them a child. We all know that children no matter what age HATE to listen to adults thus, the children leader surfaces. Eli is just a pawn being used in HWWBTR's game. Isaac is the only one who is really the true preacher, the others are just possessed by HWWBTR and he uses them to do his bidding. Hope this helps a little more. Let me know if you need any more help with anything or if you'd like me to explain more.

I see. So the explanation for Eli don't grow up over those years could be that HWWBTR made Eli stay as a child when possessed him.

Yes. Or if it's the case like with Jociah in COTC 4, Eli could have been traveling with a group of preachers who fed him mercury to make him never grow up or they could have sold his soul. It never really explains what happened to Eli to make him stay young, but My asumption is what I have written above. I really do hope that helped. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

I always thought that all of them were possesed except Isaac AND Eli. and that Eli was He Who Balks behind the rows himself, incarnated in a kid. Maybe I'm wrong.

All of them are possessed by the deity except Isaac. Even Eli, He Who Walks Behind the Rows possesses Eli just like he does all of the other child leaders and uses Eli to preach his teachings. Then he takes his wrath by transforming into the alien looking thing in the end. Just like in COTC 2 when Micah's face transforms into the demon one. That's HWWBTR coming out of the possessed Micah. So they've all been possessed except Isaac. He's the original leader the true leader and that will always be the case.

Wasn't isaac possessed toward the end of COTC part 1?And weren't the child leaders in parts 4 and 7 ghosts?

I think that Isaac wasn't possessed persay at the end of COTC but more like rejuvinated with some of the powers of HWWBTR. Because if you'll remember HWWBTR was never really shown in COTC as a person it was just a bump under the ground and a type of shadow that could move the earth and clouds. Another reason that stipulates my reason is that in COTC 6 Isaac wakes from the coma but he's not HWWBTR because Gaberiel is but Isaac does have some powers and things in 6 as well. Like the whole not dying when he electricuted the doctor. Hope this helps with that. And yes Josiah was a ghost but he was possessed by HWWBTR. His spirit was sold to the dark side by the traveling preachers so when he died he still had that connection to HWWBTR because the deity had his soul. So Josiah came back to gather the children. Also Abel in COTC 7 was a ghost as well. It doesn't give you much of a back story on him other than he too was a traveling preacher and the leader of the children during the time he died. He along with the other children died during a tent revival when the tent caught on fire. Hope this helps. Let me know if you want to know anything else.

I think Eli was possesed but the reason you see the huge demon creature at the end is that he was possed much longer then the other children. Micah, for example, was only possed a few days and so the deity didn't have much chance to "take root" (no pun intended). But Eli had the connection with HWWBTR inside him for decades so he slowly transformed into something LIKE HWWBTR.

Um , actually only Micah , Ezekiel , Gabriel and Abel were possessed ! Josiah became " He-Who-Walks-Behind-The-Rows " ! Eli was basically a supernatural science experiment by Josiah/HWWBTR : a child who would never age with The Deitys supernatural powers . Essentially , Eli was The Corn Cults Jesus just as Isaac was their Moses !
