He thought the way to win was to keep the economy strong which was in keeping everything open and as if there was no virus and just ignore it because it would just go away on it's own.

The first is your quote and the second is my response, so gather your socks together and ring up those poll numbers in your favor.
My reasons are just how Joe Biden has been handling and responding to the virus here in the United States.
Biden clearly cares a lot more about stopping it than Donald Trump did back when he was President.
It was more than obvious that Trump cared more about winning the Election than he did about stopping the virus.

Biden cares for himself and his political agenda. Period.
It was Trump who steamrolled production of the vaccine in under nine months and set up the supply chains that Biden totally ignored, demanding eternal mask mandates while on a mission to destroy every private sector business and profession that won't comply, including the police, nursing, teachers and everything else in sight.
You have got to be trolling because no human being could seriously believe that nonsense unless they had the IQ of a doorknob.

He didn't care as much as Joe Biden and the majority of voters. Now look how many more have died from COVID-19 under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris administration!!!
