Alternate Ending–Caine lives…?

I seem to remember a different ending where we see Caine get shot up as he is talking through the voice over about wanting to live and the scene kinda stopped and then replays/rewinds back to the start of the drive by shooting where he dives over the kid on the big wheel and the bullets miss him? Am I crazy???
