So.. The Guildford Four were :
- Gerry Conlon
- Paul Hill - Gerry's friend
- Paddy Armstrong - Gerry's friend
- Carole Richardson - Paddy's English Girlfriend
And the Maguire Seven: - Annie Maguire - Gerry's Aunt (through marriage )
- Paddy Maguire - Annie's husband and Gerry's Maternal Uncle
- Patrick Maguire - Annie and Paddy's son
- Vincent Maguire - Annie and Paddy's son
- Giuseppe Conlon - Gerry's father
- Sean Smyth - Annie Maguire's brother
- Patrick O'Neill - Family friend of the Maguire's.
I know Gerry and Carole are dead now. I know Paul Hill lives in America and Paddy lives in Ireland with his family. Annie Maguire is alive and wrote a book. Paddy Maguire died in 2004. Their sons, Vincent and Patrick went on to have families of their own and in 2008 Patrick wrote a book about his experiences. We all know Giuseppe died in prison.
But I can't find any information on what happened to Sean Smyth or Patrick O'Neill. All I know is that they both got 12 years and both served their full sentences. And both were eventually exonerated, along with the others. Does anyone here know anything about the post - prison lifes of either of them? Did Sean go on to have a family? I know Patrick O' Neil had a wife and 3 daughters. She had just given birth to a 4th child when he was arrested. If anyone has information on either Sean Smyth or Patrick O'Neil (with a reliable source of info ) please reply or PM me.
