Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — The X-Files

I wanted to bring this up here on IMDb because it seems not many posters are aware, if any. Anyway, there's an interesting piece of info that's been brought to the Haven (X-Files forum) some time ago, concerning season eleven. Joe Harris (X-Files comics) and Jonathan Mayberry (XF origins writer, author of short story anthologies) were at New York Comic Con. A fan who's been posting at the Haven since 2008 claims to have spoken with them both.
Allegedly, Mayberry told this fan that he's been discussing with Chris Carter how to resolve the season ten cliffhanger:
After the UFO zooms into Scully's eye on the bridge, it then zooms out revealing Scully in the XF office. Everything we've seen in "My Struggle II" after Scully views O'Malley's report never really happened. It was in her head, like a daydream, basically all her fears what could happen.
I'm aware that this is most likely false information, but frankly I wouldn't mind it. If the season eleven premiere were to pick up in that office with Scully on the laptop, and "reality" continues, there would be an actual chance for CC to repair several important elements. Yes, CSM is still alive, and the events of MS1 are not negated, but around 50% of it would be repairable, and not as damaging (although still problematic).
Another thing to consider is Chris Carter saying in a behind-the-scenes video how the season ten finale is Scully's struggle "through her own eyes". There are several ways to interpret this. Perhaps he was playing with this idea from the start, having realized the disastrous consequences of the whole world having physical proof of alien DNA and hundreds of people witnessing a huge UFO on the bridge. If you choose to have standalones in season eleven (which he said he wants), it would be extremely problematic after the events in MS2. So essentially, MS3 would be a re-written MS2.
It may all sound crazy, the thought of practically erasing a whole episode, but if CC can negate an entire mythology (nine seasons) then he can also negate one episode.
And let's not forget people refusing to believe the season ten spoilers, especially on Reddit. Mulder and Scully estranged? Bull. Mythology retcon? Bull. Another alien abductee a key to everything? Bull. Well, it wasn't bull.
It's really wishful thinking on my part, hoping that parts of season ten will be erased but with CC you can't rule anything out.
Regardless whether you choose to believe this spoiler or not, my question is, would you enjoy seeing something like this in a possible season eleven?

I do wonder if they will do something like this, because when she is in the office we get an eye zoom. Because frankly I don't know how they could continue on from the cliffhanger with people dying.

I can't even remember what the cliffhanger was. I remember it was a big governmental story and that's about it.
Mulder in the train car and CSM says BURN IT!, that's a season finale.
The alien artifact spinning on the table.
Mulder falling off the cliff and getting abducted.
There wasn't one good thing about the 2015 mini series in my opinion, once you get over the buzz of seeing them back on (new) tv.
