In my opionion, the strongest and most unforgettable image in the movie is when Irons gets out of the police car after Martyn dies and goes home to face his livid wife. Imagine getting out of that car and walking towards the house when u realize the confrontation that awaits u inside. Meanwhile, it is dark and rainy and there are all the reporters yelling him at him from behind the gate. It is a subtley disturbing scene.
Of course, the kitchen scene tops that. Inrgid's verbal annihilation of Stephen is equally riveting and disturbing to watch - check out the look of terror on Iron's face - u can tell he wants to run and hide somewhere.

Yeah it would be one thing if he had just had an affair on his wife and got busted. It would be bad if he had an affair with his son's wife and got caught. But to cheat with your son's wife and then have your son die indirectly as a result-well, I doubt Id have the courage to come home.

I know. . .and it was RAINING. What a bad day!
This movie sucked beyond all reasonable measure.
