The doctor checks Madeline and says she has no heart beat and a temp below 80. He wants a second opinion. He runs out of the room. Then Ernest runs out of the room and sees I guess the dr on a table and they are trying to revive him with the paddles? I Don't get it did the dr have a heart attack or something?

he probably have a heart condition, and seeing someone with no pulse and cold temperature and a broken neck bone still alive in front of him must have got his heart pumping too fast and dies of a heart attack

You also see him popping a pill or two after he took a sip of Ernest's drink. Seeing a living dead was too much for him.
He probably did get the doctor for a second opinion the woman with the short hair is seen closing Madeline's eyes in the trailer when Ernest comes back she informs him that Mad has gone to the morgue.
