Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Death Becomes Her

    AF_Wife17 — 12 years ago(June 21, 2013 11:20 AM)

I love how after Madeline passes out at the hospital & the female doctor tells Ernest that she was taken to the morgue & Ernest says, "The morgue?! She'll be furious!". Another line that makes me lol is after Ernest takes Madeline back to the house to spray paint her to help make her look alive & Madeline starts getting impatient, asking Ernest how much longer it'll be & Ernest says, "The highlights of your eyes are completely unbalanced, you want people to stare?" Haha I just love how he's so dramatic about it, what other lines still make you lol?

Lol! Yeah. I loved when he took Mad to the hospital, his car hit the ambulance truck so hard and he gets into a crazy little fight with the paramedics saying, "She's at Death's door!!!!!!". It was also how it was played out which was hilarious.

Hahaha thank you for the laugh, I also love that scene as well! To me, Bruce Willis plays a pretty hilarious drama queen in this movie.

Lol! I agree. Usually, he sometimes plays the badass tough guys but in some films like this, he really does a great job playing the pitiful, bumbling, goofy drama queen.

When Madeline is asking Dakota about the girl in his house-
            "Well, At least lie quickly!!"-
            "I AM TRYING TO!"

The entire movie is hilarious and filled to the brim with funny lines, but one of my favorite bits is the scene when Madeline first gets home after drinking the potion and Ernest confronts her:
                E: "We have to talk."
M: "Why don't you have another drink and go to bed."
E: "You'd like that wouldn't you, Madeline? You'd like to see me drink myself into an early grave. That's not going to happen, by God! That is not going to happen. YOU ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE MY MONEY!"
M: "Wha- what are you talking about?"
Just the dismissive way she talks to him along with her facial expressions/body language. It has been implied that the potion costs everything you have (or close to it), so she's just spent the last of his money on herself and could NOT care less, lol.
Meryl Streep plays such a magnificent b*tch & absolutely OWNS this movie - which is saying a lot since Goldie Hawn & Bruce Willis are fantastic as well.
Few men have virtue to withstand the highest bidder.

I love how Meryl delivers this line.

How about the scene in the mental asylum during group therapy session, Helen runs just about everyone crazy with the mere mention of Madeline's name. And if you notice, the therapist was reluctant in asking her if she wanted to share anything in the session because she knew what Helen was gonna say and everybody was going to flip out. LOL!
Helen's Therapist: "So, Helen. We haven't heard from you in a while. Is there anything y-youyou'd like toto talk aboutwith the group?"
Everyone cautiously looks at Helen and hoping she doesn't say THAT NAME.
Helen: "Yes. I would like to talk about..Madeline"
                    Everyone screams and freaks out.
                    Helen: "Ashton."

Like when you drank tea and lost your pinky?
                        It broke off.
You always have to crack your knuckles.
                        "I want to be alone"

While not a word persey, the gasp that Madeline lets out as Helen pulls her down the stairs at the end always makes me LOL!
