His groan annoying or worthwhile

Yeah, i don't know if i can throw the whole film altogether because of that piece of unrestrained acting, but that might have been the final straw if he did it one more time.
Just was awkward. Dunno if it was the drugs or just the way he thought the character would suffer a break down. -

yeah the groaning was too much, maybe if they had shortened it and not have him doing it more than twice it wouldn't have been so bad. the first time I said okthen afterward its just "here we go again".
also I watched this 1 day after watching Reservoir Dogs again, and its the same whine that you get out of him at the end of that as well -

I disagree with what so far appears to be a common opinion. I thought his wailing was very realistic for pure miserly. We hear cries and moans in so many movies, but here is something that can truly be called a wail. Call me melodramatic, but I've let out such sounds in my worst periods, so it really speaks to me as both realistic and personal.

His entire performance was brutally realistic and the constant wailing did not take anything away from it. Not that I think it was bad, as of matter of fact I found it believable and real. And when you take into account this character was in a severely bad state, it makes sense why he kept loosing it in such a way. Or maybe, it's possible Keitel cries and moans like that whenever he's in pain.
One more thing the final moments of Reservoir Dogs came to mind whenever he broke down.

It became kind of overwrought after a little while for me, though. He kept wailing all the time (yeah, a gross exaggeration but since it did occur on more than occasion, it became very contrived in some of those latter sequences).

I'm thinking that's maybe a "signature" thing of his as he does it in other movies too. Someone must have praised him for it at one point. I don't care for it either.
