And surprised is a eufemism. This is one of the greatest romantic comedies ever made. I guess people just don't get it when a romantic comedy is without Julia Roberts, Jennifer Lopez, Hugh Grant or Richard Gere. While most of these movies are all quite clich and forgettable, I find 'Only the Lonely' refreshing. It's about real people. Not about Mr. and Mrs. Wonderful, but two real / lifelike characters. One of them a big, heavy guy who has problems to leave his mother, and the other one a friendly young woman who is a funeral home worker and is very introvert. For those who haven't seen it yet..what are you waiting for?!!

I'm a dude too and I think us men like a more realistic romantic comedy. Also, the fact that the leading roles aren't Mr. and Mrs. Perfect makes this such a nice movie. On the other hand.maybe they are perfect and the others aren't! That's just the kind of stuff this movie gives you to think about. Some may be overweight, someo may be shy, but that doesn't mean they aren't good, nice people. I mean, beauty is only skin deep.
