Just finished watching it and I feel like it has vampirically sucked the life out of me. Things just got worse and worse for that poor little boy being forced into a horrific adult world he had no understanding of. It seemed all the adults (bar Viggo - though he was selfish) went out of their way to make his life hell: the English lady telling him horrific things he didn't need to know about aging, his mother abusing him, the sheriff forcing him to feel responsible for the deaths through his father, the mother of the 2nd dead child blaming him in that horrible way.
I thought the film was beautiful, though the woman who played the English lady could not act (and she was incredibly ugly and scary looking - not surprising the child thought she was a vampire). I still don't know what to think about the movie, but like any good art, it affected me emotionally, so I guess it did its job.
    I simply am not there
