When Sheen chases after his car that's being taken away riding a bike while "Strike Like Lightning" plays. Can someone explain why this scene is necessary? Just to show how "crazy" Sheen is? I think we'd gotten that already at the beginning when he jumps off the bridge. Such an awful movie.

Also think it showed how Navy SEAL's tactics and training can be applied to even everyday "civilian" occurences, like, for example, having your car get picked up and towed away on a flatbed. I thought it was one of the best scenes of this movie. Also like the connection to Charlie Sheen's younger bother's well-regarded cult film "Repo Man," if you follow me. Wouldn't it have been funny if Emilio Estevez had done a cameo role as the Repo Man driver of the flatbed?? lol

yes it would be funny..but he didnt make the cameoand thr scene was never meant to be clever.
its just G-A-Y. The SEAL Teams are notorious for douchebag meatheads. Many ive met are cool but trust me Pfarrer is no exception. He may be the academic type now but he wrote this beep in the beep 80's when he was probably at the height of hid douchebaggery.
Ya'know what dont beleive me, just take a trip down to Coronadowait beep it go onto Google and type in "Forged Clothing".the ass monkeys you see holding guns with slutty tattooed chicks are ex SEALs and as you can clearly see are well supported by the ranks of other SEALs.
SEALs dont run down tow trucks on the highway with bicycles. Lance beep Armstrong couldnt do that you retarded ass retard. Get real people this movie was made during a time when people where very ignorant as to what these dudes did. Pfarrer is nothing more than a hack (although a good writer and smart guy) who capitalized on it. Now hes collecting royalties from the brain damaged. -

Yeah, you totally missed the point of this. It establish sheen and the nature of a navy seal's team to improvise and adapt to any situation at hand. Even when best laid plans go south and everything is out of hand. They are constantly shown enduring a lot of setbacks but have that never quit attitude that real elite forces have to have even in the face of certain death.

^ This. The scene with the Cutlass and the tow truck is supposed to nail 'the indomitable spirit' or whatever of the navy seals in a nutshell ie a cool summation of their mantra/creed shown throughout the film. The scene shows how everything they've learned can be applied to real life situations in a fun way.
