i.e., the hobbling scene. We see Annie knock Paul's left foot to a crazy ankle, obviously breaking it, and we then see her move to do the same thing to his right foot. Yet after this second, terrible trauma to his lower extremities, we don't see Paul subsequently injured or suffering in any significant way. Maybe they were in a hurry to end the story and didn't want to dwell on Paul going through a second recuperation period. There are even a couple of brief post-hobbling scenes where his feet look perfectly normal. So I wish they'd have given a bit more attention to Annie's deliberate crippling of her love prisoner. The accident was one thing. But Annie's hobbling was quite another - a truly sadistically monstrous act - and the script just kind of passes over it as if it was no big deal at all
