I'm not sure to what you are referring with regards to depression. I mentioned having it a long time ago, (related to child abuse that carried over), and there's a certain poster here who's confused and thinks I'm still "depressed." (She's also confusing
"being depressed"
with
"clinical depression,"
but that's another story for another day).
I simply pointed out to two posters on here who talk about stopping their
antipsychotic
meds, that doing so "cold-turkey" is very dangerous, and I provided sources. I encourage people to always work with their doctor and not try to
"self-manage"
their prescriptions.
That message has somehow gotten twisted.
As far as adoption and dogs,
every single one
of my animals have been rescues; my Amazon Red Head parrot,
all
my cats across the years, every single dog including my
current
one,
all
my horses, and even a Beta fish I rescued from a gym that was closing (they were going to flush the little guy!) Plenty of unwanted animals are waiting for homes.
Only said that you
talked
about Depression / Bipolar disorder.
Didn't say and didn't want to imply that you're depressed (clinical or not).
The info about the
Bornavirus
was friendly meant.
Realized that you're interested in medical topics.

You are quite right. I've always been interested in all things medical.
Your info reminded me of a horse we had at our barn named Queenie. She had a brain tumour, and rather than put her down, we kept her because she had her lucid moments and was generally a good horse. But every now and again, over the course of a normal ride, she'd suddenly flip out and go nuts like she felt lost and confused, maybe scared, and would buck and rear-up. These episodes only lasted about 60 seconds or less then she'd be right back to her normal self.
We had to only let experienced riders get on her because we never knew when she'd have an episode. Our willingness to just allow her to be herself and monitor the progression, allowed her to live many more years than if someone else owned her who didn't want to bother or put in the time with her.
