what's the point of curt's death?

if cody was able to kill mr hardin that fast and easy with ONE gun smaller than curt's, then what sense did it make for curt to have to die if they were just shooting him with TWO guns that seemingly had no effect?

Think his purpose of dying was 2 show us Mr Hardings drill weapon in action,its the only time we get 2 see it.

I still hate that Curt died, back when I first saw it on HBO I had a bestfriend named Curt and I remember him being pissed about that. I agree that it was to show off Hardings drill weapon but I did find it funny that Cody "kills" all 3 teachers on his own and I always thought it was weird that pretty much everyone died at the end, there wasnt even a heroic death.

All of the characters except for Cody and Kristy had to die. It could only be those two that survived. So all the other characters had to die some way or another. At least that's how I saw it.

Concentrated fire was the key, shooting at him from point-blank range. Also the fact that it was in his mouth which was probably not a very armored area.
