A question ive often asked myself,i really never thought hector would die but he just lies there motionless when the movie ends,its never really explained if hes dead or just knocked out by the impact.

I always wondered the same. It kind of implies that he died but the way it was executed, he could definetly have lived.

I guess it's possible that Hector wasn't fatally shot, but Dr. Forrest seemed to be a real mean dude and I don't think he was joking around when he was talking about not leaving survivors behind
