Just caught this episode for the umpteenth timestill blows me away every time.
For anyone who hasn't seen it, it's a powerful episodehighly recommended.

First of all, shut the hell up and don't tell me what I am. I've been watching SVU for 18 years and Law and Order for over 20 years..,who are you to judge me, you troll? You're getting as bad as cardinal42.
Any fan of Law and Order would be touched by Jack McCoy in that bar after the execution, and Lennie having to go to a bar, and then the circumstances afterwards? It was touchingperhaps you're the one who isn't a true fan of this show. -

You are truly stupid. It was soapy melodrama. Nothing about it was touching, and hardened cops and prosecutors would not react like they did in that episode over the death of a scumbag killer. I mean Lennie Briscoe was a veteran detective who was used to seeing death every day and had investigated some brutal crimes and the murders of children and he hadn't had a drink in years and he is suddenly going to go to a bar and drink because some dirtbag rapist/killer got executed? Stupid and unrealistic. Same goes with McCoy. It was soapy, preachy junk.
Only a sappy soap opera lover who hates the death penalty and believes scum should have more rights than their victims enjoys that episode. I know a ton of L&O fans who despise Aftershock. There was nothing touching about McCoy getting drunk and ranting about his dad, it was stupid soapy melodrama and L&O always prided itself on never having any soap opera elements and not showing the characters personal lives. -

Let me ask you this, what are your other favorite episodes of L&O? And why does a soapy unrealistic melodrama like Aftershock appeal to you? And do you enjoy the soapy personal drama on SVU? -

This is because you project so much of your miserable life onto everybody else on these boards. Calling people names over a TV show is pathetic. kjperes13 is not in the slightest bit angry, though it's not surprising that you're too ignorant and stupid to notice or understand that. The only angry person here is YOU. You're angry because your an ignorant imbecile who has no understanding of people WHATSOEVER and, as a result, no friends. I don't think I've EVER encountered someone as completely and utterly clueless about people as you.
It's no wonder you're too stupid and too unenlightened to understand Aftershock. It's a great episode, but someone who has so little comprehension of people obviously wouldn't understand it. The fact that you don't understand McCoy getting drunk - amongst numerous other things - proves that. I mean you're so incredibly stupid and insensitive that you think kjperes13 would "respond to [you] with a reasonable response" after you replied to her original comment with an idiotic and insulting post. The fact that you think she might try to have some sort of reasonable conversation with you - after your initial response - and that you think she she isn't replying with a "reasonable response" because she's angry that you disagree with her, shows just how incredibly uneducated and unsophisticated you are. I seriously suspect you are a sociopath/psychopath because you clearly lack any empathic ability, and you clearly lack any and all understanding of people. It's actually incredibly sad that you think your initial response is in ANY way acceptable, and that ANYONE might reply to it with a "reasonable response". Why on earth would she respond in ANY way to the points you're making??? Let's look at what they are shall we- You (i.e. kjperes13) are not a fan.
- Aftershock was trash.
- It was a soap opera.
- It was everything L&O wasn't supposed to be.
- It was garbage.
- The only people who like it are fangirls who like to see soap opera storylines, preachy melodrama and personal BS.
Seriously you ACTUALLY expect that someone - ANYONE - would respond to this pile of rubbish, which is NOTHING more than your OPINION, and has NO BASIS WHATSOEVER in fact? Do you??? Are you retarded or something? Are you really THAT far from understanding people? As I said, you REALLY need to get some help.
Oh and no, I am not angry. No I don't know kjperes13. No to whatever other idiotic things you dream up because you're too stupid to understand my motivation and think it must be something wrong with me, when in fact the WHOLE problem here is YOU. P.S. No you do not know a ton of L&O fans who despise Aftershock. You know very few people. Assuming that your real life personality is in any way similar to what we've seen here - and there's no reason to think otherwise - then you have very few friends, if any at all. Even if you do know a ton of people - in the unlikely event that you have a job it is certainly a menial one, because there's no way someone with your interpersonal skills could have any other kind, and maybe you interact with a ton of people as a result - then they avoid you like the plague because you're a sociopath with no social skills, and they certainly don't discuss Law and Order, or anything else, with you at length. Nice try but no one is buying it!

Just check out other posts on this board, you will find several people that dislike Aftershock and don't rewatch it. The truth is, is it was everything L&O wasn't supposed to be. L&O prided itself on not getting into the personal lives of its characters and it never had another personal episode which was a good thing.
