Not only was he an awesome character, but the movie basically revolves around his, Sheen's, and Berenger's characters. They make for an awesome trio.

It's all about marketing. Bernsen was pretty big at the time with LA Law and Snipes was a relative unknown.

Not exactly. He was in Wildcats a couple of years earlier. So not a complete unknown, but certainly not enough to get higher billing in this movie.

In 1989 Corbin Bernson was starring in LA Law, the hottest show on TV. Wesley Snipes was basically a nobody in pretty much his first major role.
