    Did anybody else think Sean Connery was pretty bad in this movie. I think he was just overly cheesy

        Yeah, IMO Connery and Ford have a special chemistry and Connery lifts the movie to another level.

            To clarify:
            Steven Spielberg was apparently obsessed with the idea of having James Bond play Indiana Jones' father, which seems more like a whim than a logical casting choice. And while Connery was admittedly not bad in this, he did however lack a certain seasoned gravitas that an even older veteran star like Gregory Peck, for instance, would have brought to the role. And let's face it, it would have made more sense for Indy's dad to be American than Scottish.
