Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — The Arsenio Hall Show

How you aske? Two wordsGRUNGE ROCK.to be more precise grunge saved
hip-hop. Kurt, Eddie & co. came along from Seattle and dealt the death
blow to the pseudo-hip hop "wigger"ism that had a painful stranglehold
on the turn of the 90s pop culture. The white teenagers & junior high
kids that made up most of Arsenios audience suddenly wanted to act
white again.leaving stars like vanilla ice ,positive k,skee lo,MC
Hammer and Donny Wahlberg look like yesterdays news FAST.now that the
wannabe's was gone, what was left was the black urban audience, and the
few white kids that actually understood real hip-hop/rap.which means all
the pop accessible COMMERCIAL rappers died a painful death.which means
the wanna be's wasn't the driving force behind hip-hop anymore(trend
wise).thus bringing about the silver age of hip-hop.with rappers like
pete rock and cl smooth,2pac,biggie,nas,jay-z,ice cube, naughty by
    nature,wu-tang,bone thugs-n-harmony,a tribe called quest,arrested
    development etc etc.THANK YOU ARSENIO!!!!!!!!!!!

I still don't see how Arsenio has anything to do with this.

I don't about Arsenio saving anything or having anything to do with white kids turning their back on hip/hop and towards grunge, but today, there are millions of more white kids blasting rap and bumping bass then there ever were black kids. More white kids wearing saggy pants and saying N i gga like it's cool, too. WTF is going on? Probably got Arsenio to thank for that.
                Talk about the wrong stuff!
