Can anyone point me in the direction of a copy of the soundtrack? Thanks in advance for your help. I have found a site that sells it, but it is not available at this time.
Nobody asks to be a hero, it just sometimes turns out that way. -

Here it is:
http://delit.net/music/title_list_world.phtml?id=32003&lang=eng
All you need is e-mail address for registration, and you get 2 free downloads a day. Since the OST only contains 2 tracks, it's enough

Well, there's three different editions available: the widely available Polydor 841 584 edition with two tracks that are 20:00 suites but doesn't have all the music heard in the film; the Warner-Pioneer 29L2-93 with three tracks of suites running a total time duration of 45:20; and Odeon Soundtracks 852 035 with sixteen tracks running a total time duration of 45:17. Good luck! ; )

The major music theme in the movie is based on the work of P.I. Tchaikovsky "Barkarola" - a very beautiful piece, indeed. You can find many performances of it on youtube. The best among them, on my opinion is this:
