      1. Money
      2. The Dream Warriors were sorta irrelevant.
      3. Nancy is like completely forgotten about. The shot of her grave didn't cut it for me.
They basically were going in a different direction and half assed the continuation. It was as if 3 never happened IMO

I don't think so, the movie starts with the three survivors from the third film. And they even recast Kristen because Patricia Arquette was pregnant at the time of filming instead of erasing the character. That's not pretending the previous film didn't happen, it's actually the opposite. They were continuing the story.

It does start with the 3 dream warriors. They were gone within 20 minutes and didn't even get to kick at least a little bit of Freddy's ass. Going out with a bang ala Nancy in Part 3 when saving Kirsten and despite being in much pain she waited to die so she still could Freddy was vanquished.
Joey died and had like 25 lines completely isolated fepm2other characters.
Kincaid died amd attempted to hurt Freddy. He was wrong. So?
Kirsten idiotically runs to Freddy and gets the Baby treatment ala Dirty Dancing finale into a fire pit? And why pass her power to Alice? Had she not. Freddy would have been all "um so now what?" Go hang with Beetlejuice in the afterlife waiting room?
They dumbed them down. And do mention 3. However its in the most roundabout way. Why not have Kirsten say "wish Nancy was here to help" or a scene if them at her grave discussing Freddy? That's what I'm talking about with the bad continuity continuity.
Heck at least in Dream Child Alice's dad said "would be nice to have a boy around the house again" homaging Rick.
Warriors ended as if Kirsten was devastated about Nancy's death. Tuesday's Kirsten seemed like she got over it bedore the soil over her grave settled.

This always bothered me too. Nancy was so important to them in part 3 - doubtful they would have survived without her help - and she's not verbally mentioned at all by those same characters.

Her ghost could appear in their dreams as Freddy's does. Then they could have continued her character from beyond the grave.

She did appear as a ghost in some of the comics I believe. 🙂

That is the Story told to us. None of us were there so both of us could be wrong about why she never returned.

                  1. Maybe Patricia was like "Why is Kirsten written as a moron?" and passed?
                  2. Maybe she had a horrible time working 3 since Chuck Russel was an ass to the actors? This was even srated by Rachel Talalay in the series documentary. She basically said he never could get over the "bad" first impression she made by repeatedly messing up her lines? (Only because she waited for hours for the crew (who were late and she naturally got tired.)
Watch these terrific behind the scenes footage shot by a crewmember. This is filming of the Freddy Snake.
Russel even seems short with Langenkamp while filming the climax where Freddy gets vanquished and Nancy dies. Heather even seems a bit "this guy isn't Wes and is an beep
Probably why Heather's acting wasn't as strong. Craven flat says in the New Nightmare commentary that her performance was off in 3.
Of course for all we know they could all could be on the same Bunko team and have Sunday brunches every Sunday lol.
Its all speculation. But after watching those behind the scenes videos and Talalay saying "He didn't know how to communicate with people correctly" in the documentary? I'm more on the she never returned because he made her experience making it a hell
