Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Killer Klowns from Outer Space

What is the scariest movie you saw that involved a clown?
"It" of course comes to mind (Tim Curry owned that role), but I remember seeing an old B&W horror film decades ago called Ghost House that involved a little girl that made her clown doll come to life and kill people. As a kid, it scared the hell out of me.
Killer Klowns was also creepy, but in a semi-humorous way of course.
Also, Clown House was just down right crazy.

So far, "Killer Klowns" and "It" are the only scary clown
films I've seen. When I was a kid, the Killer Klowns used
to freak me out and give me nightmares.

        Clown House
is a freakishly frightening film that gave a young Sam Rockwell his start.
Sadly the film has all but vanished off the face of the Earth.

          Vanished? You mean this movie?:

I think I'm going to check it out tonight. I don't think I've seen it.

The holy trifecta of "scary clown movies" is
            Killer Klowns from Outer Space
            ,
            Clownhouse
            , and
            It
            .

if that was off, I'd be whoopin' your ass up and down this street.

I just watched killer klowns today for the first time since I was 5! To this day I have been terrified of clowns because of this movie. But after 23 years since I first watched it I decided to try again. This movie is not scary but hey I was 5 when I first saw it so of course I thought it was scary. Actually the clowns weren't that bad, creepy at times, but the acting was scarier then anything else in this movie lol.

Sorry, but Killer Klowns gets my vote for most boring, most amateurish. I'm trying to get through it now, but I literally have to get up every 10 minutes otherwise I'll fall asleep. Honestly don't understand how this even got a 5.8 rating. The concept would have made a better 30 minute episode of TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE.

Have never heard of 100 tears, but it sounds interesting.
I wasn't really impressed with 'It.' I usually like Stephen King adaptations, but this just didn't do it for me. Tim Curry was great though.
Love Killer Klowns and am going to see Clownhouse soon.

IT was not even close to being scary. I found Pennywise pretty damn funny actually.
