For its time, and for the glory of B rated films, this will go down as one of the best. I put it in the same category as Evil Dead, however Evil Dead is MUCH better in my opinion.
Still, the costume designs (i'm positive they were on a short budget), lighting, comedic effect, not so great acting, yet still fun over all. I mean comon, killer clowns from outer space eating peoples brains and bodies through by putting them into cotton candy cocoon awesomeness.
It's just good stuff overall. I give it 8/10, eff it.

It has a cult following for sure. It even got a steelbook release in the UK, it definitely has it's fans. I'd also consider it underrated in general though. It's funny, and the klowns look fantastic even today. The stuff they had them do that was spooky yet still had to do with clowns and the circus was a lot of fun. In terms of silly horror movies it's a classic, and we watch it every halloween
