Here, I find out that it is a comedy. Well.

While i was older when i saw this and definately saw this as a comedy there was one scene very real to me. When i was a very small kid i dreamed about people not really people with some sort of machine coming up my street taking people away. It was quiet and very somber while it was happening. I remember this like it was yesterday and it was very creepy to see the clowns slowly coming up the street in the film taking people. Spooky

I saw it as a teen, and while it was pretty campy, it still really freaked me out. Some scenes were just out there, while many were pulled off very well. But once you get to the ending, I couldn't help but laugh thinking the whole movie was a joke, but when they destroy the ship at the end, I got to thinking they just killed most of the town along with the klowns just to save their own hides and something about that always bothered me. Yet, the pie in the face gag at the end I always wondered if it was an acid pie and they DO die, but we just don't see it. It definitely was one of my guilty pleasures watching this movie on Skinemax years ago
