The use of Van Morrison's "Domino" during the end credits

I liked this movie a lot, but I never understood the use of this song during the end credits. I mean, what's the meaning? How does this song relate to the movie? Is there some sort of connection between the lyrics and this movie's theme that I'm missing? I could be wrong, but I don't believe this song was used during any other scene in this movie, and with all the depressing s*** that happens in it, for the movie to end with such an upbeat-sounding song playing over the credits seems totally out-of-place and inappropriate. Can anyone explain to me the reason for the song's use here?

Yeah, I didn't get it at all either. It just downplayed all the profoundness of the final scene for me. And then it jumped right back to that Tears for Fears "Mad World" instrumental ripoff theme. I agree that the choice of "Domino," while a great song on its own, belonged nowhere in the credits.

i thought the song never sounded better.
i think it was just that… it was the kind of music that sober people listened to of that age in that time… it's not druggie music but it's related…
