I was 6, my brother was 9 and it was the first movie I saw in the cinema so I can't help but love it even though every time I watch it my head is asking me if there's something wrong with the brain inside it!

Nope. I thought this film stunk worse than dirty old socks even when I first saw it in the theater at age fifteen.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.

I'm inclined to agree. I loved it as a little kid. It definitely has its flaws and isn't a great movie, but it's not as bad some make it out to be. Christopher Reeve still shines brightly as Superman, and Gene Hackman is still a hoot hamming it up as Lex, so it's got that going for it.
So many stories, so little time.
