I know it's the same actor but does anyone think that Neal's coworker at the beginning that tells him he will never make his 6pm flight is Ferris Buellers dad in the Hughes universe?

Good point. I did recognize Edie McClurg as The rental car lady and Ed Rooney's secretary, I was willing to believe that there could have been an identical twins situation there. I totally missed Ben Stein as both the teacher and the airport announcement guy.

Yeah, that was Ferris' dad alright. Lyman Ward is his real name.

Plus quick bits by American extras Tom Willett as an airport commuter and Bob Harks sitting behind John Candy in the restaurant scene. Moreover, William Windom is hilarious in an uncredited role as the indecisive CEO seen at both the start and very end after the credits have finished rolling.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.
