I just checked that scene. I didn't think it was DeNiro but it is. (The angle of his face hides the famous mole). Maybe he is clean shaven just to show he can change his appearance and can be in many places, pulling the strings.

I don't know how I forgot this detail but I watched it again today, and I noticed that the hair color was De Niro's (even before he turned around) and that yes in the split second reveal it is De Niro with short hair and no beard.

I always assumed it was just a way of showing that Lucifer, like God, was omnipotent and that was just a way of him keeping tabs on Harry. That or the robed creature was just one of his minions or demons which also bore his likeness.

Thought about this after seeing the film again and realizing that it is him. He is wearing the same clothing I think that we see a person wipe blood from the walls after the apartment ceremony. Maybe that is supposed to be him too?

OMG, what's up with you people? And all these crazy talk about Louie being Angel? He was clean shaven be cause he was dressed as a WOMAN!!!! Duh?
If you're looking for more than that in his appearance there, here's your plossibile theory. Harry killed the doctor, Toots, Margaret and her father, but Louis killed Epiphany.
