Because he holds her personally responsible for how his life turned out. He was supposed to go into pro football but he had sex with Peg and she got pregnant so his dreams were ruined. Plus Peg is annoying and sits on the couch all day watching Oprah and eating bon bons so no wonder why Al is turned off by her.
