I was trying to identify it too. Several of the suspense and triumph themes are from Liszt's
      Les Preludes
, which is a tip of the hat to the Lone Ranger, but I think one of the closing themes was Tchaikovski; I'll listen again & see if I can ID it.

Liszt's Les Preludes are used in Lone Ranger too?
Or are you mistaking it for Flash Gordon (1940), in which I am positive they used it.

Didn't sound like a piece of classical music to me, I guess I would have heard it before, like all the other classical pieces of the film. This piece with big drums seems to be part of the score composed for the film.
          Regards, Rosabel
