What a great film. It had a great story, several smaller intertwining plots that related to the overall themes, and plenty of comedy too. I loved the way the wraparound story fit the style of an old western, and the ending was awesome, especially with the bull horns on the top of Goro's truck. He literally "rode" into town, gathered a posse, saved the day, and rode off into the sunset. It was hilarious haha. This movie was a lot of fun, and certainly stands with only a few other films as a good culinary comedy that isn't totally driven by a romantic plot.

I just saw this movie today and loved it. It has to be one of the funniest movies i've seen in a long time, and a brilliant satire. I've only seen it for the first time but I can tell it's one of those movies you can watch again and again and notice new things and catch new jokes. Like for example you mentioned the bull horns; I hadn't noticed that but it cracks me up now that you mentioned it. I'm gonna have to watch again to see what else I didn't catch. Great movie.

Glad we agree. 🙂 Your response made me want to go back and watch it again also. 🙂 Let me know what else you find on your second viewing. I love Japanese films, because they are always full of subtle details and symbolism, and can always be better on a second or third viewing.
