Thought I would be trashed by anyone ASAP. I did see the film in 1986 and thought nothing of it. When imdb.com initially showed up, I was really surprised that it had been highly rated, enough to make top 250.

Gordie and Chris were gay with each other….
Stopped reading right there.
Dunno why you and others cannot accept that two close male friends are being platonic bros who support and love each other only as brothers can.
I guess you and others that always declare two close male buddies in movies are always gay never had a close male friend and think it’s gay when men give each other a good hug and nothing else.

Wake up: it's actually gay feeling. Anyone can see it. But watch Brian's Song with Jimmy Caan and Billy Dee Williams…that was not gay. 100% platonic friendship.

The same is never said for chicks who bond.
Just dudes.
And it’s bullshit.
If they were gay for each other they wouldn’t have parted.

They actually stayed together. The other two drifted apart. But for some reason, Chris disappeared or whatever in the last ten years.
