A Sequel?

Should there be a sequel to this film to show what the surviving characters are like? Would that be a good way to give a film metaphor to the long term effecs of PTSD?

Yeah, only in the sequel we nuke Nam, Russia nukes us in retaliation and the final surviving armed forces member pushes a button just before he dies sending a nuke to Russia that destroys it all.

Yeah, the movie will make us forget the millions dead and dying Americans as the Anthem plays over the credits with a flying torn and tattered American flag with the words "Murica, Fuck yea!" spray painted on it.
This gives me a hard on just thinking of it!

It really doesn't need a Sequel.

I'm totally not for a sequel. Platoon works much better as a stand-alone film.

Platoon is actually the prequel to First Blood (1982)..
They had to change "Rambo" to "Elias" for legal reasons.
