Wasn't Helena exquisite and exceptional? Wasn't her performance incredible and great? I don't know about you,but Helena Bonham Carter is my favourite actress!!! Especially in this film she was shining!I like her much better in these corset roles, rather than the other ones, the modern, the tough charecters. They suit her perfect! One reason is her looks. Her pale skin, her beautiful cute childlike face, her long brown hair and her thick eyebrows are just stunning! Anyway, I think she made an extremely good Lady Jane Grey!

Absolute agreement. She is my favorite actress as well. She portrays her roles in ways most people wouldn't think of, yet her portrayals are never outlandish. Take her Ophelia, for example. Ophelia is always acted as a silly, deferential innocent, which is in all likelihood how Shakespeare intended her to be acted, but at the same time makes her rather two-dimensional. But Helena Bonham-Carter's portrayal was absolutely perfect. Her Ophelia is so much more human: she can be sarcastic and wilful (when, for example, she is with Laertes and Hamlet), but also that frightened, somewhat simple girl whose life is dictated by her father and. The performance is positively astounding, made even more so by her extraordinarily convincing madness scene.
Her Lady Jane was also magnificent- again, she brought a much more human aspect to a somewhat distant (though still fascinating) historical figure. She and Cary Elwes made an exceptionally captivating pair, and with brilliant work on behalf of the arts department, this film is truly extraordinary.
