This movie is great, campy 80's fun for pretty much all ages. I watched it growing up and used to pop it in every now and then at a video store I worked at.
How does this have such a low rating? It's cheesy 80's fun. -

Very underrated Sci-Fi movie. One of Tobe Hooper's best films.

I went to see this in the cinema and it scared the utter hell out of me! It was only years later I saw the original. I think both films are great, the original was much more sinister but the remake fleshed out the story a bit and did a good job of being a tribute to the original!
great stuff! -

Much better then the generic gay stuff released todaythis movie was pg back then and Im sure kids were sent into the theater by themselves and to deal with the nightmares that came years after.
Today this movie would be rated R and wouldn't surprised me if you saw 17 years old being escorted by a parent. -

I've only ever seen the second half of this film for some reasonI seem to always manage to get in on it too late. I'll rent it someday, but the last half is goofy fun, especially with the Martian creatures toddling around in the underground lair, and the ones with the laser "eye" weapon. I love the way they screech when the soldiers shoot them. The sound sure makes our cat stare at the television.

If you love Jesus Christ and are 100% proud of it copy this and make your signature! -

I think people who desperately try to take this movie seriously get disappointed and vote it down.
From the first moment I saw this one (and I had been outcreeped as a child by the original) I knew this was a parody (I mean, the screechy schoolteacher getting eaten by a two-legged giant muppet with an equally giant belch afterwards come on!) and it was terribly funny!
Hmmm? -

The movie really isn't that goodparody or not. Every movie, no matter how bad it is, has fans who adore it. This is no different. I really love this film, but my enjoyment doesn't make me think it deserves a higher rating than it has. It doesn't. It's cheesy fun, but it doesn't qualify for anything better than a mediocre rating when all is said and done. And there is nothing wrong with loving a film like this to death! I sure do!!!
Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?
