I have a soft spot for this movie, for sure. I saw it in the theater when I was 10, it was the first R rated movie I knew I was seeing. What I mean is, I probably saw R rated movies before, but I didn't realize it. With Cobra, I knew it was rated R, I knew what that meant. I knew this was some big boy sh!t.
So now, at 40 (sh!t, has it been that long??), I still enjoy watching Cobra, and I'll readily admit that it has a lot to do with nostalgia. I might wonder what a younger generation would think of Cobra. Is it too dated? Too 80s? I mean, its 80s-ness is part of the reason I still enjoy it, but that has everything to do with my fondness for the decade in which I grew from a little boy to a young man.
