I really think this year would be the perfect time to officially release the original cut of this action classic. I know I'm not the only one who's endlessly looked for the workprint to no avail. Come on Warner bros., just give it to us! Who's with me?

It's impossible to know. There's no consistency from studio to studio in regard to excised footage being archived. It usually has to do with the discretion of the editor or producer. Also, some studios like to purge their archive of unused scraps of film from time to time, and in the process a lot of unused footage gets thrown out. However, as we all know uncut versions of censored movies surface on video all the time, so there's a possibility that the director's cut of COBRA is still in Warner's vaults but it's a mystery at present as to whether or not they'll ever bother to release it. After all, COBRA wasn't a huge hit for them.

To be honest, even though Cobra has a horror-ish atmosphere, I don't really think that the deleted scenes of Nightstalker killing innocent people would have been reminiscent of something like the violence found in ''Maniac.'' Probably a lot of stuff was implied heavily. Even with the additional violence, they weren't (or at least I'm guessing) really making another ''Antropophagus'' or the aforementioned ''Maniac.'' At best, they probably cut some grisly shots. Still, quite unfortunate that we won't probably see them.

I seen this on the T.V when I was a kid and only remembered it after I started to watch it today because I had forgotten the name lol Its cool I love anything 80's or 90's or even 70's
Its obvious now the "night slasher is based off of Richard Ramirez.
I am the son of a man named Tom.
