Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Cat's Eye

I loved Cat's Eye as a kid and I still love it, and I love almost all the anthology horror films out there (well, only the last part of Trilogy of Terror, but still). Why don't we see them today? The last I remember seeing in the theater was Tales from The Hood, and that was years ago.

Trick R Treat from 2006 is decent. A sequel is coming next year.

you haven't missed much. but, if you want a second opinion, i'd definately recommend Trick r Treat; for pure entertainment value. there have been a lot of lackluster horror anthologies to make it to my video store (yes, i still use video stores).
My don't waste your time list:
ABCs of Death (i'm so angry that i blind bought this one)
Tom Holland's Twisted Tales (i'll be nice and imagine that a bigger budget would have helped this)
        Theatre Bizarre
V/H/S (but some people liked it - i think there might have been 1 decent story)
        Drive-in Horror Show
        Sanitarium
Chillerama (i probably wasn't the audience)
All Hallow's Eve (they fooled me with the introduction of the clown)
Amusement (biggest discrepancy between potential and actual product - i had been so excited about this)

As others have said, I think the biggest problem is that the quality of the anthologies just aren't that good. I actually thought Cat's Eye was pretty bad, about the quality of your average Tales From The Darkside episode. In fact, I know I liked many more Takes From The Darkside episodes better than I liked this movie.
As a couple people mentioned Trick 'r Treat was actually pretty good. The director also did Krampus, which was fun and decent for a modern horror movie. The BEST horror anthology I have seen in years was Southbound, I thought it was interesting, looked good, and when I saw it people actually walked out of the theater from the gore. First time I had seen that in over 10 years.
I did also see the latest VHS (I think it was 4) which was ok, but nothing I would recommend.
