Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Thundercats

the fact that we see the Mutants perform genocide on the ThunderCats/Thunderians in Exodus?
The 'nudity' of the characters pops up in lists about 'things cartoons can't get away with today' and so on, but I've yet to see anyone mention that ethnic cleansing was on full display.

Why would they? It's not like they portrayed it in a positive way.

The fact that they appeared nude is always commented on in lists about how you couldn't get away with that in today's kid's shows. It seems people don't mind seeing genocide take place, but any suggestion of nudity, even barbie-doll like and people immediately scream out "oh won't somebody think of the children?!"

The series premiere also featured the death of Jaga. At the time it was rare for a children's animated series on American television to acknowledge that people die, but the standards were looser for cartoons in first-run syndication.

True, but with Jaga becoming an apparition, you could say they cheated death on that one.
