        Interesting that though his character is memorable and instrumental to the film's plot, he doesn't get a huge amount of screen time.

          Although the first time we really remember him is shirtless in leather fisherman's waders and suspenders, which he somehow manages to make both frightening and sexual.
          Which is pretty much what Dafoe does in every single film he's in.

              I disctinctly remember William from this film. He looked scary.
              That scene during Ellen's first concert when she gets kidnapped, how the shadows fade to reveal his evil face…
