RidiculousKirk makes this offer to an evil Klingon who tried to steal Genesis had his son murdered and had forced the noble Admiral in to blowing up his own ship.What good did Kirk think it would do if Kruge had accepted?l could imagine Picard offering hid hand but Kirk..no!!

Even The Doctor offered to save the life of his No. 1 enemy, Davros, who rejected the offer. What Kirk did was very.human. And then kicking him in the face afterwards, was equally so.
