I'm looking for the Original Screenplay by Kevin Reynolds before it was revised by John Milius.
I own a copy of the shooting script (September 6, 1983) but this includes all the rewrites and represents pretty much the movie we all know.
In the original script by Reynolds the "Ten Soldiers" were younger than in the movie.
Now I'm interested which differences were also part of his vision.
Is anybody out there who can help me?

Would you happen to know anything about the novelization (referred to down in a comment here: http://thesilverkey.blogspot.com/2009/09/red-dawn-retrospective.html)?

Thanks but this is the same screenplay I already have.
I heard about the novelization but actually never saw a copy. I can't even find a bookcover on the internet.
Sometimes it feels like a rumour only.

Wait, so there's something even more radically different? I haven't read all the way through, but the whole bit with Andy is fairly different from the actual film (he never really talked about his wife or his combat record, and he stuck around a good deal longer in the final product if I recall).
What have you heard of the novelization? Anything different or new from what's in the link? Even Kelly's Heroes wasn't this hard to find (and that wasn't exactly an easy novelization to find!)
