John Hurt as Braddock is a great villain - his first appearance reminds me of a lizard or a snake in the shade of that rock. All his small controlled gestures and inclines of the head are of a man who is a coiled spring. Tim Roth's Myron is the chaotic violence of a hooligan - but Braddock's violence (when it comes) is more startling and brutal. I like the later scene where Willy mentions that he met him once at a party - and Braddock is coy about the name he was known by then. And when he is dying and the cop is trying to get his real name reminds me of the Day of the Jackal - the hitman dies with only a string of aliases - noone knows who he really was.
