Affirmative action is meant to balance put the proven bias against black people. It's not perfect, but if systemic racism wasn't a thing it wouldn't be needed.

An advantage. In this context, an advantage in society. Something like Affirmative Action is a corrective measure to the disadvantages black people face.
It levels the playing field a bit, but they're hardly at an advantage from it. Like I said, it's imperfect, and it also only addresses the outcome rather than the causes that keep them there in thr first place.
